Select an Authentication Method for Khoros

This article introduces four authentication methods. Select any method to index the data on a Khoros community. If your Khoros community is accessible through .htaccess, then it's essential to choose one of the two .htaccess-based authentication methods.

PERMISSIONS

• Attachments can only be crawled if you select either Community user or OAuth and Community user during authentication.

No Authentication

Crawls the blogs, knowledge articles, threads, and other information that does not require any access rights to view.

1. Check No Authentication to turn on.

   

Community User and htaccess

Crawls the data a community user, whose ID and password have been entered, can access.

1. Check Community User and htaccess.

   

2. Fill the fields.

   

API User and htaccess

Crawls the data that an API user, whose ID and password have been entered, can access.

1. Check API User and htaccess.

   

2. Fill the fields.

   

OAuth

Crawls all the data on your Khoros community.

1. Check OAuth.

   

2. Enter your Client ID and Client Secret. Check out Obtain Khoros Client ID and Client Secret.
