Boost Documents with Intents

In the Intent tab of NLP Manager, administrators can either create new intents from scratch or import them from an external file. Smart Suggestions, an integrated feature, analyzes user search queries and groups them into intents. By integrating these suggestions into the search algorithm, administrators can configure the search results to respond to the user's intent rather than simply matching individual keywords. The trained data from Intent can then be utilized in Intent Tuning.

Add Intent

  1. Navigate to NLP Manager > Intent and click Add New.

  2. In the Intent Name field, enter a name for your intent. In the Intent Description field, enter a description for your intent. Click on the Save button.

Create a new file and format the intents. Then upload the file using the Upload Intent button.

Expand Utterances with Use Search Synonyms

When the Use Search Synonyms feature is enabled, any synonym linked to an utterance in the Search Synonyms section will be treated as an additional utterance for that intent.

Here's an example to illustrate this concept:

  • In NLP Manager > Intents, "Cognitive Search" is an intent, and "SU" is an utterance associated with that intent.

  • In NLP Manager > Synonyms, "SearchUnify" and "SU" are defined as synonyms.

  • When the "Use Search Synonyms" feature is activated, NLP Manager will recognize both "SU" and "SearchUnify" as utterances for the intent "Cognitive Search."

You can remove intents and utterances with the Delete button.
